I am so glad you’re here!

Taking the leap to invest in your mental health is no small feat. I know how scary and exhausting it can be to search for a counselor who feels like the right fit. You’re not alone in this journey, and I want to assure youβ€”you’re in the right place.

I’m a Jacksonville native, a proud toddler mama, and an avid gardener. One of my greatest joys is growing a cut flower garden so I can share bouquets with friends and women in my community.

Professionally, I attended graduate school at Southern Adventist University, nestled in the Tennessee hills, where I earned my Master’s in School Counseling. Since, then I’ve spent the bulk of my career supporting women on their journey towards healing.

I’m a proud member of the Elbow Tree Cooperative, an organization that provides free counseling for firefighters and their families. Additionally, I serve on the Unbreakable Mental Health Task Force, which provides scholarships and mental health resources for individuals and communities impacted by gun violence.

In 2020, I was honored to be named one of 18 Black Mental Health Experts on Instagram to Follow by Bustle Magazine for my dedication in raising mental health awareness and supporting others on their journeys.

These experiences have shaped my passion and purpose, ultimately leading me to establish Something New Counseling and Wellness. My hope is that it becomes a place where you feel encouraged to take those first steps toward the change you’re seeking.

Fun Facts About Me

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the work I do with women. This work is deeply meaningful and sacred to me, and I approach it with the utmost care and respect. It’s truly a privilege to walk alongside each woman on her journey towards experiencing a filled life with new hope, confidence, and clarity.

My go to Starbucks order

This is an easy one because I love all things Matcha. I tend to either get an Iced Matcha Latte with a pump of chai made with oat milk or a Matcha Frappuccino with oat milk.

What are you currently working on in life?

I am learning how to navigate new motherhood in a way that feels good to me. In the early stages of motherhood, I fell into the trap of parenting in a way I thought I "should" instead of honoring my personal values and the uniqueness of my child. It's been a few years, and I still feel like a new mom, and that is more than okay!

Favorite Book

This is a tie between anything written by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie or Brene Brown, Maame written by Jessica George, and Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams.
